Dr. Tessa Lam attended the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) where she studied kinesiology and was introduced to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) bridge program during her freshman year. In June 2018, Dr. Lam became the first person to graduate from the UOIT-CMCC bridge program which allowed her to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in Kinesiology degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in seven years, instead of eight.

Dr. Lam’s objective is to help her patients reach their health goals through individualized, evidenced-based care. She uses a variety of techniques such as spinal and extremity manipulations/mobilizations, acupuncture, myofascial release, rehabilitation exercises, kinesio tape, and modalities.

At the age of 15, Dr. Lam was first introduced to field lacrosse and has been playing ever since. During her three years at UOIT, Dr. Lam was the goalie for the Women’s Lacrosse team. She was awarded UOIT’s Lacrosse Freshman Athlete of the Year 2011-2012, and Lacrosse MVP 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. Dr. Lam continues to be an active member of the Lady Blue Knights Lacrosse Club as a player, goalie coach, and Chair of the board. She is also the assistant coach at Ontario Tech University.

Shannon graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2004 with honors. After graduation, Shannon began working in Physiotherapy clinics in Durham Region. Shannon grew up in Oshawa and throughout her youth played many sports including soccer. She has additional training in pregnancy massage/acupressure for pregnancy, Myofascial Release and several courses in orthopedic injuries and whiplash related injuries. In the future she plans on taking her Level 1 Cranial Sacral Therapy certification. Shannon began working at Whitby Civic Physiotherapy in 2011 and has built up an extensive clientele. Shannon keeps herself busy with her 2 young daughters who are very active in sports. She is very comfortable working with children and babies in her practice and has experience treating both. Shannon encourages parents to not only seek out Massage Therapy for their own benefit, but also allow their children to experience Massage Therapy and the health benefits it has to offer.
